Health development basically aims to increase awareness, willingness, and ability to live a healthy life for everyone so that the highest degree of public health can be realized as an investment for the development of socially and economically productive human resources. For this reason, the development of health human resources (HR), especially pharmacists, has an important role in realizing quality health services.
To produce competent pharmacists, a curriculum is needed that can provide an overview of the implementation of pharmaceutical science in the era of globalization. The expansion of the paradigm of pharmaceutical shipping from drug-oriented to patient-oriented requires pharmacists to partner and interact with other health professions in providing voyages with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of patients.
This partnership should be started during the pharmacist professional education work practice, so that the experience of learning to practice pharmacy can then equip pharmacists in carrying out pharmacy practice in accordance with the pharmaceutical service standards set by the government.
Productive collaboration between academics and practitioners is needed to develop methods that are pragmatic, efficient, effective, relevant, and according to needs, so that the interaction of students, science and practice has an orientation for achieving professional competence.
In order to ensure the implementation of standardized Pharmacist Professional Work Practices (PKPA) in all Pharmacy Colleges in Indonesia and produce pharmacists who are able to carry out practical or pharmaceutical work according to standards, a pharmacist professional education practice standard is required as a reference in implementing the Pharmacist Professional Work Practice program ( PKPA).
