After completing this topic, 

1. Students are able to understand the principles of systematic literature search in the field of pharmacy in particular and medicine in general.
2. Students are able to understand the basic characteristics of experimental, observational and economic evaluation studies.
3. Students are able to formulate specific and relevant research questions in the health, clinical and pharmaceutical fields and are able to develop appropriate inclusion and exclusion criteria.
4. Students are able to develop comprehensive search strategies in several databases relevant using the PICO/PECO(T) method.
5. Students are able to screen literature and optimize reference managers for library searches.
6. Students are able to prepare, develop and carry out library data extraction
7. Students are able to understand the implementation of systematic reviews according to the PRISMA (TheguidelinesPreferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)
8. Students are able to choose an appropriate quality assessment tool and are able to understand and carry out quality assessments.
9. Students are able to understand the various biases and conduct bias assessments in the published literature.
10. Students are able to understand the principles and design of a systematic literature review accompanied by meta-analysis.
11. Students are able to understand the basic statistical methods used in the implementation of meta-analysis which includes analysis of heterogeneity, fixed and random effects models and presentation of results in forest plots.

Syllabus

Systematic Literature Search course discusses the principles and practical steps for conducting a systematic review in the pharmaceutical sector. The focus of discussion in this course includes the concepts of systematic literature review, design and implementation of literature searches, development of systematic review protocols, knowledge of the basic characteristics of experimental, observational, economic evaluations, etc., extraction of library data, presentation of library data, selection of literature quality assessments. appropriate methods, carry out an assessment of the quality of the literature, assessment of bias in published literature, principles and design of meta-analysis, as well as basic statistical methods in the implementation of meta-analysis
