Faculty of Pharmacy Unpad Disseminates Findings of Community Pharmacist–Led Tuberculosis Case Detection Model

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Padjadjaran, held a Dissemination of the Results of the Active Tuberculosis Case-Finding Model by Community Pharmacy Workforce on Saturday (29/11/2025) at the Unpad Training Centre (UTC) Dago Hotel, Bandung. The event was led by Prof. apt. Ivan Surya Pradipta, Ph.D., who served as the speaker and program lead.
This dissemination presented the final outcomes of the Engaging Community Pharmacy in Tuberculosis Detection (ENHANCE) study, an implementation research program involving community pharmacy personnel in active TB case finding. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Unpad, Prof. Dr. apt. Ajeng Diantini, M.Si.; representatives from the Bandung City Health Office; the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) West Java; IAI Bandung; PAFI Bandung; participating Puskesmas heads; the RC3ID Research Center; as well as program implementers consisting of TB program managers, pharmacists, and vocational pharmacy personnel from participating pharmacies.
In the presentation, the research team outlined the program’s implementation achievements, ranging from the contributions of pharmacies in initial screening to the referral flow of suspected TB cases to healthcare facilities. The discussion session highlighted supporting factors for successful field implementation, challenges encountered during the process, and strategies to strengthen cross-sector collaboration for sustaining the model. Stakeholders also shared evaluations and insights regarding opportunities to further integrate community pharmacy personnel into broader public health programs.
The event concluded with an expression of appreciation to all partners for their support and collaboration throughout the ENHANCE program. Through this research, the Faculty of Pharmacy Unpad hopes to further strengthen the contribution of community pharmacy personnel in accelerating TB case detection and supporting efforts toward achieving Indonesia’s tuberculosis elimination targets.
