SBMPTN

Background

Joint Selection to Enter State Universities (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri/SBMPTN) through written examinations has shown various advantages and benefits, both for the national interest, PTN, and participants. For participants, the benefits of joint selection are that it is more efficient, cheap, and flexible with the existence of a cross-regional mechanism. This SBMPTN from year to year is always improved and developed in accordance with the times and technological advances. In 2016 the SBMPTN was also introduced using a Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK).

The 2019 SBMPTN is a selection for new student admissions using only UTBK results or UTBK results and other criteria jointly set by PTN. UTBK can be followed by graduate students in 2017, 2018, and 2019 from secondary education (SMA / MA / SMK) and equivalent, as well as Package C graduates in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Data management and processing for the purposes of selecting the SBMPTN pathway are carried out by the Institution College Entrance Test (LTMPT). LTMPT is the only standard university test provider in Indonesia.

Objectives

The objectives of the SBMPTN are as follows:

  1. Select prospective students who are predicted to be able to complete their studies in higher education properly and on time based on the results of the UTBK only or the results of UTBK and other criteria set jointly by PTN.
  2. Provide opportunities for prospective students to choose more than one PTN across regions.
  3. Obtaining prospective students who are predicted to be able to complete studies at the destination state universities based on academic grades alone or academic scores and other student achievements.

General Requirements

 SBMPTN is a selection carried out by PTN within the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) and the Ministry of Religion jointly under the coordination of the LTMPT with selection based on UTBK results only or UTBK results and other criteria jointly set by PTN.

Requirements and Selection Process 

Admission of new students through the SBMPTN route is carried out in two stages, namely following UTBK and registering for the SBMPTN. The SBMPTN registration requirements are as follows.

Participant Requirements:

  1. High school / MA / SMK / equivalent students who graduated in 2017, 2018 must already have a diploma.
  2. High school / MA / SMK / equivalent graduates in 2019 have a Secondary Education Graduation Certificate, which at least contains the latest identity and color photo information signed by the principal and affixed with a valid stamp.
  3. Has a UTBK Score.
  4. Have adequate health so as not to interfere with the smoothness of the study process.
  5. Has NISN.
  6. For participants who choose an arts and sports study program, they are required to upload a PORTFOLIO.
  7. The UTBK costs are borne by the participants and government subsidies.
  8. Did not pass the 2019 SNMPTN path

Registration Stages:

The SBMPTN registration stage is carried out via the https://portal.ltmpt.ac.id  page in the following steps :

  1. Fill in the Biodata (except for participants who have registered at SNMPTN ).
  2. Choosing a PTN and study program provided that applicants can choose a maximum of two PTNs and choose a maximum of two study programs in one PTN or two PTNs
  3. Upload other documents in accordance with the SBMPTN registration requirements.

Study Program Group and Number of Electives

The study program groups and the number of choices in the SBMPTN are as follows.

  1. The study programs in PTN are divided into two groups, namely the Science and Technology group and the Social and Law (Soshum) group.
  2. Participants can choose a study program for a maximum of two study programs with the following conditions:
  • If all of the study programs selected are from the Science and Technology group, the participants take the Scientific examination group.
  • If all of the study programs selected are from the Soshum group, the participants take the Soshum exam group.
  • If the chosen study program is from the Science and Technology group and the Soshum group, the participants take the Science and Technology examination group as well as the Soshum exam group
  1. The order in which the study program is selected states the priority of choice.
  2. SBMPTN participants can choose a study program at any PTN.

Bidikmisi Program Applicants 

The following are the requirements for Bidikmisi applicants:

  1. Registrant students from economically disadvantaged families can apply for Bidikmisi tuition assistance.
  2. Prospective participants who receive Bidikmisi must first study the registration procedure for the Bidikmisi program on the http://bidikmisi.belmawa.ristekdikti.go.id page.
  3. Prospective participants who receive Bidikmisi must first register on the http://bidikmisi.belmawa.ristekdikti.go.id page
  4. Prospective participants who receive Bidikmisi who are declared to meet the requirements by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, Kemristekdikti register for UTBK on the https://pend Registration-utbk.ltmpt.ac.id page and are not subject to an exam fee.
  5. Candidates for Bidikmisi recipients who have not passed the SNMPTN, use NISN and NPSN to register for UTBK and are not subject to examination fees.
  6. Prospective participants who receive Bidikmisi who have passed the 2019 SNMPTN are not allowed to register for the SBMPTN.

Other Information

Participants who are accepted through the 2019 SNMPTN route are not allowed to register for the 2019 SBMPTN.
