1. Students are able to explain the basic science of handling test animals in the development of a new drug through in-vivo activity testing. 
2. Students are able to explain various methods of testing the activity of a drug using test animals that meet the requirements of ethical testing in pharmacology research.

Syllabus

This course discusses the basic concepts of Pharmacology including the basics of drug travel in the body, drug action sites, drug action on the autonomic nervous system, autacoid drug action, central nervous system drug action, drug action on the heart and spinal cord. blood vessels, Action of Anti-inflammatory Drugs and Hormones, Introduction Toxicology, Toxic action and management of poisoning and toxicity testing.
