Vocational School Students BHS Enthusiastic Attend Workshop “Single Punch Tableting Machine”
[pharmacy.unpad.ac.id] “Single Punch Tableting Machine” Workshop Series on Thursday, November 21, 2019 which was attended by 57 students from the Vocational High School of Sumedang running smoothly in the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Padjadjaran University. This activity is a program initiated by the Center for Drug Delivery and Disposition Studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Padjadjaran University as a form of self-approach and community service.
The event opened with remarks from Dr. Sriwidodo, M. Si., Apt. as the Head of the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology Department of Padjadjaran University.
“The Faculty of Pharmacy, in this case the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology has a commitment to developing pharmaceutical knowledge and practices, especially in the field of industrial pharmaceuticals and cosmetic preparations. The workshop was held in collaboration with the Center for Study of Delivery and Disposition of FFUP Drugs as one form of community service, including pharmacy vocational students who were expected to increase their technical expertise in the field of making pharmaceutical preparations. Vocational students have the opportunity to know how the principles of making tablets using a single punch tablet machine, ranging from weighing, mixing, printing, and physical evaluation. “Said Dr. Sriwidodo, M. Material about tablets was given by Dr. Yoga W. Wardhana, M. Si., Apt., Head of the Pharmacy Technology Laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Padjadjaran University. In his material, he said that tablet preparations are the most popular form of preparation on the market so pharmacists need to know better the factors that influence the quality of tablet preparations.

Then the students are invited to do a tablet making simulation starting from how to fill out a batchsheet, how to calculate the number of tablets, evaluation of the print period, tablet printing, to evaluation of tablets directly in the laboratory.
“I am delighted to be able to attend a workshop at Unpad for the first time. I can also know how to make tablets that are in fact not just theoretical, ”said one student about their impressions after attending this workshop.
Sriwidodo added that by sharing this knowledge and practice, it is expected to be able to motivate skilled and broad-minded technical personnel so that it impacts on the progress of the national pharmaceutical world.
