Seiji Mori is a professor of chemistry, Graduate school of Science and Engineering, Ibaraki University. He obtained a PhD degree from the University of Tokyo in 1998 under guidance of Prof. Eiichi Nakamura, and spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow of Emory University, Atlanta, USA with Prof. Keiji Morokuma. He has obtained a faculty position of Ibaraki University since 1998, and promoted to full professor in 2012. He was an assistant vice president of international strategy of Ibaraki University to enhance international exchanges between 2015-2017 including intensive academic collaborations with universities of ASEAN countries. His research interest is theoretical organic and organometallic chemistry, especially on reaction mechanisms of homogeneous bond activation reactions. He has also interested in enzymatic reaction mechanisms including prostaglandin synthases. He has a strong collaborations with experimentalists ranging from organic/inorganic chemists, biologists, and physicists.
